QatarEnergy LNG and Qatar University’s College of Engineering have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in the fields of education, research, development and innovation, reinforcing a long-standing partnership that has contributed to the advancement of knowledge, talent development and national capacity building in the State of Qatar.
The MoU was signed at Qatar University Headquarters by Rashid Sultan Al-Kuwari, Chief Engineering & Projects Officer (CEPO) at QatarEnergy LNG, and Professor Ibrahim Mohamed Alkaabi, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Qatar University, in the presence of representatives from both organizations involved in various areas of collaboration.
In his remarks at the event, Rashid Sultan Al-Kuwari, CEPO, said this MoU reflects the continuing and historical collaboration between QatarEnergy LNG and Qatar University for the last two and a half decades in the areas of education, research, knowledge-sharing, and community development. He added that it also supports the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 and recognizes the vital role that academia and local companies play in serving the country and society.
The agreement marks a significant milestone in the continuing relationship between QatarEnergy LNG and Qatar University, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting Qatar’s national development priorities through the advancement of education, research excellence, and innovation.
Professor Ibrahim Mohamed Alkaabi, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Qatar University, stated that the signing of the MoU reflects the University’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with leading national institutions in support of Qatar’s priorities in education, research, development, and innovation. He noted that the collaboration will provide valuable opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty members through joint training initiatives, knowledge exchange, and support for research projects, contributing to the development of national capabilities and supporting sustainable development in the State of Qatar.
Through this agreement, the two institutions will collaborate on a broad range of initiatives designed to promote knowledge exchange and create meaningful opportunities for students, researchers, and professionals. Areas of cooperation include the exchange of technical information, studies, publications, and data; the organization of conferences, meetings, and training programmes; support and supervision of Qatar University students’ graduation projects; and collaboration in research, development, and innovation activities. The MoU also provides a framework for exploring additional areas of mutual interest that contribute to national development and industry advancement.
To ensure effective implementation of the agreement, QatarEnergy LNG and Qatar University will establish joint working groups and committees to facilitate collaboration, monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes. Specific activity programmes and initiatives will be developed through separate agreements between the respective administrative bodies of both organizations.
The MoU further strengthens the strategic relationship between QatarEnergy LNG and Qatar University and underscores the shared commitment of both institutions to developing future talent, advancing research and innovation, and supporting the sustainable growth of Qatar’s energy sector and knowledge economy.
